Safety Matters was founded in 2008 by Jennifer Richards. Jennifer began her career in the construction industry in 1987 as a Carpenter’s Apprentice and became a Journey Level Carpenter in 1992. After 12 years working as a Carpenter, she transitioned to Construction Safety working as Safety Director for W.G. Clark in Seattle.
In 2008, she founded Safety Matters, a third party Safety and Health Consultation Company that specializes in on-site safety training, workplace inspections, accident investigations and assistance with Labor & Industries disputes.
In 2017, Patricia Bottari become Jennifer's business partner and together they opened the Safety Matters Training institute in Georgetown, an industrial neighborhood of Seattle. The Institute has been a long time dream of Jennifer's. It offers hands-on safety classes with open enrollment, giving companies the opportunity to register a single worker or a group of workers to any classes offered. It gives construction workers a place of their own, where they can stop by for a quick safety awareness class or to pursue a career change or promotion by enrolling in a Construction Safety Coordinator Certificate course.
The Safety Matters family is here to serve the construction and general industry in their safety and health needs. We always put our clients and their needs first, whether it is a last minute request for a site inspection, or personalized training, to assist with an expected LNI visit, or an accident investigation, you can always count and rely on us.
